Pfeil, Larry E., 67, Johnstown, passed away April 8, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born October 13, 1949 in Johnstown, son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Eisenhuth) Pfeil. Preceded in death by infant brother, Henry Pfeil; cousin Robert Eisenhuth; and brother-in-law, Charles Zlockie. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Betty Pfeil, Johnstown; children, Tracy, wife of Gregg Schneider, Gibsonia, PA; Chris, husband of Sara (Croyle) Pfeil, Johnstown; Shannon, wife of Jeffrey Sotosky, Woodbridge, VA; and Kerry, husband of Mary (Stenger) Pfeil, Johnstown; Proud Poppy to his“Magnificent Seven”, Ella Rose and Jacob Schneider; Mason, Grady and Hannah Pfeil; and Hailey and Landon Sotosky; Also survived by sisters, Donna wife of David Kinsey; Linda wife of Gary Hockins; brother, Richard husband of Debbie Pfeil, all of Johnstown; and sister Eileen wife of the late Charles Zlockie of Indiana, PA; also cousin Virginia Eisenhuth and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Larry was a sports enthusiast who was known for his passion and competitiveness as an athlete, coach, and spectator. He also impacted the lives of many as a long-time youth coach at St. Patrick Elementary School, Greater Johnstown Youth League and Arbutus Little League, and City Pony and Colt Leagues; He served as general manager of the Johnstown Grays / Martella’s Pharmacy franchise for 18 years; Larry was retired from Bethlehem Steel and Republic Technologies; He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, and served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era. He will be remembered most fondly for his unwavering strength and his love and commitment to his family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the MOSKAL & KENNEDY COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, Ohio Street & Highland Avenue, where a vigil service will be held in the evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr.
