Swalligan, Joseph Noah, 33, Ferndale, passed away May 27,
2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 21, 1983 in
Johnstown, son of John and Kathi (Maier) Swalligan and a
2001 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. Preceded in
death by father; brother, Anthony M. Swalligan; maternal
and paternal grandparents; aunts, Caroline Swalligan and
Laura Maier; and uncle, Sepp Maier. Joseph is survived by
his loving mother, and siblings, John, and wife, Karen
(Llewellyn) Swalligan, and children, John and Martina,
Clearfield; Liana, married to Frank Stumpo, and children,
Olivia and Frank, Pittsburgh; Kathi McKee, and children,
Josie, Bridget and Jack; Jessica Jeffreys, and sons,
Jacob, Ian and Nicholas, and their father, Terry Jeffreys;
Morgan, married to Chas Cypher, and children, Lillian,
Hunter and Emma; Joshua Swalligan with Dawn McGilvery and
sons, Ethan, Evan, and Micah; Mary Swalligan and Anna
Swalligan, all of Johnstown. He also is survived by aunts,
uncles, cousins and many cherished friends. Joe was always
a strong and calming presence wherever he went, always
carrying with him an incredibly positive outlook on life
and an incredible faith in God.  As a child he loved
playing with construction vehicles in the sandbox and
continued on to play with the real deal, operating and
driving them in real life.  Joe was always quick to tell a
joke to brighten the mood and loved being goofy with his
nieces and nephews.  While he was only home for the
weekend, ready to start a new life in Pittsburgh, God
decided he wanted him more.  Joe will forever be loved and
missed by his family and friends. Family will receive
friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at MOSKAL &
Rosary will be recited by Fr. Patti and members of the
Knights of Columbus, St. Andrew Council 11308. Funeral
mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St.
Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Angelo Patti. Committal
will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be directed to St. Andrew
